Julia Mitchell is a designer and weaver of 40 years’ experience, whose works are shown and collected extensively in private and corporate collections worldwide.

Ms. Mitchell’s recent work explores clouds, blowing grasses, and the palette and distressed surface of ancient Roman wall painting, Her designs reflect and respect the requirements of this particular medium. Rather than bending the materials (wool, Japanese silk, linen) to the dictates of the design, she gives the fibers free rein to weave themselves into appropriate balance.
